Back on-line

Monday, July 27th

After relaxing at home and swimming in the lake on Sunday, we headed down the coast to Collioure, a lovely port town at the bottom of the Pyrenees. It’s a place plus populaire! Parking was non-existent in the town which meant a good trek to and from the sights.
A chateau sits in the harbour, and in a semi-circle around it are four small, but filled beaches while nearby are the eateries/cafes and quaint shopping streets.
By now you can probably guess our arrival time! The heat, though, means swimming can happen at anytime, and the summer light still leaves room for exploring. A little windmill on the hill called to us. Again, like the windmill in Cucugnan, it is still active. Speaking of active, our liitle hike worked up our appetites.
Pizza may not seem like a great French meal; however, when the sauce is crème fraiche and not always tomato, and the pizzas are thin crusted and oven-fired, they are a meal tres delicieux. We loaded up waterside before driving home.
